Privacy Policy

Last updated August 1, 2026

The short version: the pages you read and the questions you ask never reach us. If you have an account, we hold your email and your plan — nothing more. Details below, and the FAQ covers the common questions.

1.What we do not collect

CogniSphere does not operate an AI service. The extension sends page content and your questions directly from your browser to the AI provider whose API key you supplied. That traffic does not pass through our servers, so we never receive:

  • The content of pages you visit
  • The questions you ask or the answers you get
  • Your API keys, which stay in your browser's extension storage
  • Your browsing history

This is a property of how the extension is built, not a policy promise we could quietly change without shipping different code.

2.What we do collect

Only if you choose to create an account:

  • Email address — to identify your account and send verification and password-reset messages.
  • Name and avatar — if you sign in with Google, and only what Google returns.
  • Plan status — which tier you are on and when it renews.

The extension works fully signed out. If you never create an account, we hold nothing about you.

3.Payments

Payments will be processed by secure payment providers once paid plans launch. Card details are collected and stored by the payment processor, never by us — we receive only a customer reference, your plan, and its expiry date.

4.Your AI provider

When you use the extension, your chosen provider — Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or your own Ollama instance — receives the page content and your question. Their privacy policy governs that data, not ours. If you run Ollama locally, nothing leaves your machine at all.

5.Service providers

We use a small number of third parties to run the site:

  • Supabase — database hosting for account records
  • Vercel — website hosting and aggregate, non-identifying traffic analytics
  • Resend — transactional email such as verification and password resets

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not run ad tracking.

6.Retention and deletion

Account records are kept while your account exists. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@cognisphere.me; we will remove your account and its associated records. Payment records may be retained by payment processors where tax or accounting law requires it.

7.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold. Since that data is limited to your email, name, and plan, these requests are quick — email support@cognisphere.me and we will respond within 30 days.

8.Children

CogniSphere is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9.Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
